McKnight and Associates, Inc. was founded by J. Sean McKnight in 2005. The firm are based in Nome, Alaska, but also have an office in Minnesota. We specialize in transportation planning, cultural resource investigations, environmental documentation, surveying, engineering, and construction management services.

J. Sean McKnight, P.E.

Mr. McKnight is the founder and principal of McKnight and Associates, Inc. He has over 35 years’ experience in the design and construction of civil works, and 14 years’ experience in the Nome region alone.

Mr. McKnight was the Project Engineer/Manager/Surveyor on the Solomon, Koyuk, Brevig Mission, Gambell and St. Michael Community Streets, Shishmaref Community Streets Paving and Elim Community Streets Paving projects.

He has served as professional engineer in resolving issues associated with the Stebbins/St. Michael Road Maintenance Project, the Woolley Lagoon Maintenance Project, Unalakleet Community Streets Project and Savoonga’s reinstatement of their transportation program. Mr. McKnight has had numerous meetings with all of the region’s Corporations, City Councils, Native Village organizations and Village elders. He is known on a first name basis by most of the region’s leadership.
